Hello, everyone!
First of all,
I would like to thank anyone who has paid a visit to my blog or followed me on Bluesky since I started posting my reviews. It makes me feel very welcomed in the bookblog space! I still haven’t properly visited everyone’s blogs since my free time is short these days, but I will do my best to pay everyone I visit. 🙂
Just the other day, I was thinking of what else I could post on here other than reviews. I came across Pages Unbound’s Tips for Writing Your Very First Post for Your New Book Blog post and thought it would be nice to write a proper post detailing my journey as a reader. That post is going to be pretty thorough because I find pretty funny how my early obsessions impacted my taste in media to this day. This isn’t the intro post though. That is for another day. 😛
Today I decided to shamelessly do the New Year’s Book Tag after seeing Mehsi at Twirling Book Princess do it. If you guys know any fun tags that I could participate in, doesn’t matter if they are season-related or not, let me know or tag me in it! There’s so much I have to learn… 🙂 Let me know your new year book-related resolutions as well. If you’ve done this tag, feel free to post it on my comments section so I can check it out. ^^;
Questions & Answers
How many books are you planning to read in 2025?
I always aim for a pretty low number, so I first set to 30. This is because I might get hyperfixated on games or movies and then my reading pace will go down the drain. No one likes to set a goal and fail it, right? In a reverse situation, I could start reading a new manga series and easily hit the 30 mark so I will bump it to 40 or 50 etc. It really depends. I have stronger and weaker reading years depending on what else is distracting me.
Name 5 books you didn’t get to in 2024 but want to make a priority in 2025.
- The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (already started this one!)
- I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
- The Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors
- The Vegetarian by Han Kang
- The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu (I wanna get it to it while it’s still only 2 books. LOL)
Only Jacqueline Harpman and Wesley Chu would be first time author reads. The other 3 are authors I’ve read from before and am excited for more.
What genre do you want to read more of?
I want to read the literary fiction classics I have on my physical bookshelf. They have been collecting some dust.
Name 3 non-book-related goals for 2025
- I want to learn coding languages. I know HTML and CSS but I want to learn JavaScript and Python.
- For my vacation I hope I get to visit my sister and completely regain my energies. The past few months have been very draining both physically and mentally.
- By the end of this year I still want to be blogging as much as my time permits. We shall see. 🙂
What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?
My Lord of the Rings boxset stares me every day… You guys think it’s mad at me?
One word that you’re hoping 2025 will be.
Kind.
